The concert was held in the International music centre AMUZ with the participation of String Quartet Capellia and Piano PetRo Duo. The event presented the audience of Antwerp with St. Petersburg scene performers, whose skills and talent are demonstrated in different countries and left nobody indifferent.
String Quartet Capellia is a collaboration of four artists from the St. Petersburg State Capella Symphony Orchestra, each excelling in brilliant mastery of their own string instrument. Natalia Kalinichenko and Ksenia Vasyutina play the violin, Milana Andreeva is on the viola, and Oksana Zyablikova plays the cello. Capellia is able to masterfully perform any part of the violin repertoire: academic, jazz and pop. This concert, to be held as part of The Cultural Programme of St. Petersburg in Antwerp, will reveal nearly every facet of this ensemble’s abilities to the Belgian audience, and will give the musicians the pleasure of performing both Russian and Western classics, as well as the Argentine tango. Their tango renditions are the "highlight" of the quartet’s concert performance. Their provocative interpretations of the Balkan version of this genre can make listeners "dance right in their philharmonic seats", and their lyrical performance of the various tangos of Astor Piazzolla will lead audiences to reflect upon deep inner feelings. String Quartet Capellia often performs at home in St. Petersburg and also tours in various countries, leaving no audience unmoved after any encounter.
Piano PetRo Duo – Piano PetRo Duo is the alliance of two pianists, Dmitry Petrov and Anastasia Rogaleva, a pair with whom audiences fell in love thanks to their performances of academic music of the 20th century which were distinguished by a special technical and emotional complexity all their own. The debut of Piano PetRo Duo took place in 2000, at the International Festival of the Arts entitled, "From Avant-Garde to Present Day". Since then, these musicians have been performing together on many European venues, participating in various studio recordings, and earning high honors as recipients of various music awards and contests.
