On May 18, 2019, a meeting of the XIII All-Belgian Conference of Compatriots, dedicated to the 10th Anniversary of the Belgian Federation of Russian-speaking Organizations, was held. The organization was registered on September 27, 2009, the main goals of the Federation are the consolidation of the Russian-speaking community, as well as coordination between the Russian-speaking organizations and the support of their activities.
Within the framework of the Opening Ceremony, the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Kingdom of Belgium Alexander Tokovinin, Head of the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Brussels Vera Bunina delivered a welcoming speech to the participants of the Conference. She addressed the participants with an appeal and conveyed the greeting of the Head of Rossotrudnichestvo Eleonora Mitrofanova.
The Conference also received greetings from the Archbishop of Brussels and Belgium Simon, State Secretary, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Deputy Chairman of the Government Commission for the Affairs of Compatriots Abroad (PKDSR) Grigori Karasin, Executive Director of the Foundation for the Support and Protection of the Rights of Compatriots Igor Panevkin and Director of the Moscow House of compatriot Peter Gladkov. BFRO Chairman Elena Nalivkina presented the organization’s activities.
