On June 8, a Solemn ceremony of laying flowers to the monument to the great poet, the founder of the new Russian literature and the founder of the modern Russian literary language was held in Brussels.
For the Russian Center in Brussels, the anniversary of the great poet is of particular importance, because the only direct descendant of A.S. Pushkin, his great-grandson Alexander Alexandrovich Pushkin lives in Belgium, he is a patron of the arts and a public figure, chairman of the Union of Russian Nobles of Belgium, co-chairman of the International Charitable Foundation. A. S. Pushkin, his wife Maria-Madeleine Durnovo-Pushkin (President of the Pushkin International Foundation) belongs to the Gogol family and the Pushkin family!

Many people came to the ceremony, Maria Alexandrovna was in the center of attention. She, together with representatives of the Pushkin Foundation, laid flowers to her great-great-grandfather Alexander Sergeyevich.

The ceremony was also attended by representatives of the Embassy of the Russian Federation to the Kingdom of Belgium, the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Brussels, the Belgian Federation of Russian-speaking Organizations, representatives of the Elena Obraztsova Cultural Center from St. Petersburg; etc.
