On October 17, cabaret music played at the Russian Centre in Brussels. The concert was given by Anna Gergel and Alexandra Vantujne.
Cabarets began to appear at the end of the 19th century. Such institutions brought together poets, musicians, artists, keen on new ideas.
The concert presented the whole palette of musical theater of the twentieth century - classical in form, but modern Schönberg's works, avant-garde in themes and musical language Kurt Weill and verses by Bertold Brecht, the original works of Britten and the bright American composer of the second half of the twentieth century, Bolcom. The program of the concert also included a cycle by Sergei Prokofiev to the verses of Anna Akhmatova.
After the concert, the head of the Russian Centre Vera Bunina opened the exhibition of artists-diplomats of the international association BRUCODA “Music in Life”. It will be open until October 24th.
