A concert of classical Russian music was held at the Russian Center in Brussels, which was called "The Russian Soul in Chamber Music from S. Rachmaninoff to S. Prokofiev." Two young talented musicians performed on stage: Elizaveta Makarenko (cello) and Yulia Garifullina (piano).

Together they played the sonatas of Sergei Prokofiev and Sergei Rachmaninoff, as well as the plays of Anton Arensky.

The concert was dedicated to the heritage of the great Russian musicians. The sonata for cello and piano by Sergei Rachmaninoff, imbued with an excited tone, combines expressive melodiousness with rhythmic energy. Through this work one feels confident mastery, freedom of expression with a certain restraint and severity of writing.

Anton Arensky enriched Russian music with simplicity, sincerity, contemplation, elegance and grace.

Sergei Prokofiev’s writings contain a “bright beginning”, revealing the composer's inexhaustible optimism.
