A lecture entitled “Great Diplomat and Visionary at the Source of the Principles of the Foreign Policy of Contemporary Russia” was held at the Russian Centre in Brussels. The First Secretary of the Russian Embassy in Belgium Igor Minaev spoke in brilliant French about the main stages in Primakov’s life and, first of all, about his work in the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Opening the meeting, the head of the Russian Centre Vera Bunina recalled the important role that Primakov played in the life of our country. She also said that meetings in the RCSC in this format will continue, a whole series of lectures about famous people and major events is planned.
Academician Yevgeny Primakov is one of the most prominent figures in Russian political life. Primakov was the head of the Intelligence Service, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the chairman of the government. Incredibly popular, he was even considered to be the most likely candidate for the presidency of Russia. This year he would have celebrated his 90th birthday.
After the lecture, all those present had the opportunity to ask Minaev their questions. There were many of them, they dealt with almost all important events on the world stage.
Also in the exhibition halls of the RCSC an exhibition of photographs dedicated to Primakov was opened, which the RCSC prepared jointly with the Russian Embassy in Belgium. It will be open until November 30th.
