New Year from Siberia came to Brussels

The Russian Centre in Brussels celebrated the New Year in Siberian style. The “Open Siberia” festival helped in this.

Of course, the Russian Santa Claus - Ded Moroz - and his granddaughter Snegurochka met the guests.

To begin with, everyone was given fascinating master classes: for example, on the preparation of Siberian culinary delights “Dumplings without haste”, art painting and making Christmas toys with their own hands.

After that, a New Year’s concert was held, with songs, dances and playing on national Siberian instruments. The artistic director of opera festivals, conductor and pianist Andrei Shevchuk also took part in it. He performed New Year's songs from famous Soviet films.

It all ended with the opening of the exhibition of artists of the “Open Siberia” festival, which also would have been impossible without songs and dances and, of course, photographs with Ded Moroz.
