Film Concert for the Victory Day

Joint project of the Russian Centres in Brussels and Paris

The Russian Centres for Science and Culture in Brussels and Paris presented the premiere of a concert film for the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory.

 

This project is unique, indeed, for the first time a film-concert, has crossed borders, bringing together a whole constellation of artists and famous musicians from different countries.

 

In addition to the CRSCs in Brussels and Paris, the Russian embassies in France and Belgium, the Coordination Council of Russian compatriots in France and the Belgian Federation of Russian-speaking organizations participated in the project.

 

The conductor Andrei Shevchuk was the director, the accompanist and the host of the concert. He is an artistic director of opera festivals, curator of the association of choral groups and has worked for more than twenty years in Russia, France, Belgium, Germany and other countries.

 

The maestro has already been invited several times to the Russian Center in Belgium and has conducted concerts and various master classes there.

 

The program for the film concert "75 years of the great victory" included Russian, French and Belgian artists. They presented the most popular songs of the war years, in original version or translated.

 

The famous French singer Christelle Lurie interpreted the famous song from the film "La Gare de Biélorussie". Belgian singer Jean-Charles de Keyser performed during a concert on May 9 at Vasilievsky Descent in Moscow. Catherine Manandaza, a French opera singer, was selected by the jury for the project "The international scene of the immortal regiment" which was scheduled for May in Moscow, under the direction of V.S. Lanovoy.

 

One of the most moving Russian military songs, "Sombre Nuit", was performed by Michel Hubert, a Belgian notary, sincerely carried away by Russian and European military history. Her translation of this work was also selected for the final of the television competition "Route to Yalta".

 

A special place in the concert is reserved for vocal groups. The MGIMO university student choir and the French non-professional singers from the Russian RCSC Parisian choir are invited to participate in the project as special guests.
